Want a Career in Film & TV?

If you’re wanting to work in an industry as competitive as film or television you’ll need to develop skills of the highest level. Cleveland College of Art & Design’s Foundation Degree in TV & Film Production is one of the film & TV courses currently available to aspiring filmmakers.

In its four years it has consistently turned out highly talented industry ready professionals. Former student Michael Hunt is one. He worked with Martin Scorsese on Gangs of New York and is making movies around the world. Jonathan Frank, Nick Rowntree and Scott Mann are another example. They’re currently shooting a £2.5 million budget movie of their own in Bulgaria. Produced by Dog Soldiers Keith Bell, The Tournament features a cast which includes Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) and Sebastian Foucon (Casino Royale).

The FDA course is sponsored by the likes of as Kodak, Arri GB, Cineworld and broadcast Partner Propeller TV. These industry links offer its students a good route into film awards and festivals. In 2006 first year students Tom Marshall and Matt Rozdoba-Hallows’ short film Daddy’s Girl was short listed for the BBC 3 New Talent Competition, shown at the ‘Brief Encounters’ festival and broadcast on BBC3.

The programme provides an exciting learning experience and is delivered by a team of specialists and industry contributors. Working on both 16mm film and digital video (including HD), the output of the course is varied, highly creative and to broadcast standard.

The course is available on a full or part-time basis. For more information or to apply for this course, please contact Programme Leader Diane Scott on: 01642 288000 or email: Diane.Scott@ccad.ac.uk
