Over the next three years Northern Lights Film Festival will increase in size and significance. It’s outgrown its Northern European remit, and will expand to showcase the work of the most exciting new filmmakers from around the world. It will also continue to provide opportunities for the film industry, and it’s set to launch a raft of international awards for the first time.

In order to do this the festival team must grow, and NLFF is looking for an exceptional recent graduate to work as an Assistant on NLFF 2008, and to assist in the planning of NLFF 2009.

The post provides a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to further their career in the cultural sector, particularly in film and exhibition events.

Responsible to the Festival Manager, duties for this full time position will include:
• Providing general administrative and clerical support to the festival
• Administrating the festival’s short film submission process
• Collating and co-ordinating guests’ visits to the festivals
• Attending meetings, and taking minutes at board meetings and other meetings as required
• Assisting in the coordination, scheduling and delivery of festival receptions and events
• Assisting the Marketing team with the production and distribution of publicity materials as required
• Support the team in fundraising and planning for NLFF 2009
• Organise and coordinate the documentation and evaluation for NLFF 2008

Location: Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle
Tenure: Fixed Term Contract from 1 September 2008 – 28 August 2009
Salary: £14,000
