Call for Submissions: Concept Film Night

Call for Submissions: Concept Film Night

DigitalCity is calling for short film submissions for Autumn’s Concept Film Night.

Concept is the region’s only regular film networking event and the next one’s set to take place in October. It’s intended as a showcase for Tees Valley-based filmmakers (though some regional stuff is shown too) and represents the filmmaking industry as a whole. As such professional, student and amateur films share the showcase which celebrates the thriving filmmaking industry in Teesside.

All genres are considered with animation, drama, comedy, documentary and music video having been shown at recent events. Where possible, all of the work being shown is introduced by the filmmakers themselves. This allows the audience to discuss the films being shown with the people who made them at the networking session which follows.

The next Concept Film Night takes place on Wednesday 15th October. As usual, it’s being held in the University of Teesside’s HO.01 lecture theatre from 7.30pm - 9.00pm.

Films should be submitted on DVD, along with brief synopsis and biog. They must be under 20 minutes in length, though trailers of longer features will be considered. Entries should be sent to: Scott Watson, Industry Engagement Co-ordinator, The DigitalCity, IDI, University of Teesside TS1 3BA.

For further information contact Scott Watson on: 01642 384332 or Email: scott@thedigitalcity.org

Concept Film Night has its own blog which is currently having one or two technical problems. It will be back up and running soon though and films shown at previous events can be viewed in this section which appears at the left of this screen.
