Ilford Snaps up Teesside Photographer
East Cleveland-based photographer Keith Moss has signed a major deal with one of the world’s leading photography companies.
Ilford Photo were so impressed with Keith’s fine art and wedding photography that they approached him about using his work on the packaging of their products and in their promotional materials.
Ilford, whose headquarters are in Knutsford in Cheshire, has a 125 year reputation in the global photographic market and are now the only manufacturer of film, paper, photochemistry and other products for the black and white photography sector.
Keith, who also has his own gallery in Brotton, met representatives from Ilford at Focus, an industry trade fair at the Birmingham NEC, in February. After viewing a range of Keith’s portrait, fine art and wedding images they offered Keith a major sponsorship deal, worth thousands of pounds.
Keith’s work will now be used all over the world by Ilford and, in return, the company supplies him with his black and white photography products.
Keith said: “This is a major step for me in the commercial sector as Ilford is a name respected worldwide. Black and white photography is very popular again, especially for weddings, so I am thrilled that my images are going to be used on an international scale.
“I’ll also be working with Ilford to host masterclasses on their behalf for budding photographers and I am a proud supporter of their ‘Keep the Dark Room Alive’ campaign. I am currently one of the only photographers with a professional standard dark room in the whole of the North so it is vital that companies, like Ilford, support black and white photographers.”
