Hollywood Casting Director Delivers Scriptwriting Seminars

Hollywood Casting Director Delivers Scriptwriting Seminars

Celebrated film lecturer, casting director and writer, Wendall Thomas brings her 20 years of Hollywood experience to two one day seminars later this month.

The Black Comedy and Satire seminar will discuss the very specifics of black comedy, including setting the tone, developing juxtapositions, the specific requirements of black comic characterisations and the crucial decisions a writer must make about topic and world.

The second seminar - The Forbidden: Voice Over & Flashbacks will look at the two areas that UCLA and most screenwriting books discourage. Drawing on many examples, it will break down various specific approaches to these screenwriting devices as well as looking at when to use them and when not to.

The Black Comedy and Satire seminar takes place on Wednesday 17th September, while The Forbidden: Voice Over & Flashbacks will be held on the following day. Both are being delivered at Northern Film & Media’s Forth Street offices in Newcastle from 9:30am – 4:30pm.

If you would like to attend these FREE seminars, email events@northernmedia.org to request an electronic registration form. Place either ‘Black Comedy’ and/or ‘Voice Over’ in the subject field, depending on which seminar(s) you would like to attend.

Requests for registration forms must be received by Friday 5th September and the completed forms must be emailed back to NFM by Wednesday 10 September.
