Project Management Workshop for Businesses

Project Management Workshop for Businesses

DigitalCity Businesses Dave Sharp is delivering a Project Management workshop next month.

It’s aimed at managers or project supervisors working with small teams on projects of 3-24 months in duration. The morning of the workshop covers some of the basics of project management, why projects fail, what responsibilities project managers should assume and how current project management methodologies help. The afternoon is in the form of a practical session based around creating a small schedule and project plan for a mini project to be run by the group. The workshop finishes with a review and distribution of standard forms and paperwork that can be used to create project schedules.

[More:]

A successful Project Manager must simultaneously manage the four basic elements of a project:
• Resources: People, equipment, material
• Time: Task durations, dependencies, critical path
• Money: Costs, contingencies, profit
• Scope: Project size, goals, requirements

This practical workshop looks at real world examples of various project types and the methods used to manage them. Theoretical methodologies such as PRINCE2 and HERMES are also covered in brief at the start of the seminar but do not form the basis of the workshop. SCRUM methods along with other Agile Software Development form the bulk of the workshop.

The Project Management workshop takes place at the DigitalCity Business offices in Middlesbrough from 10am - 3pm on Wednesday 15th October. Only 12 places are available and demand is likely to be very high.
No software specific skills (MS-Project) are required.

To book a place, please email Alison Newlove at: alison.newlove@dcbusiness.eu
This workshop is reserved for companies or individuals signed up with DigitalCity Business.
