Public Relations Officer Job at Hartlepool Borough Council

Hartlepool Borough Council is in the process of recruiting a Public Relations Officer to help promote the town’s involvement in the 2010 Tall Ships’ Races.

Up to 100 Tall Ships are expected to arrive in Hartlepool on 7th August, having sailed from Norway in the second and final leg of the race. Hartlepool is the only UK port staging the 2010 event.

The Public Relations Officer post is part-time and the successful candidate will work alongside the Council’s Public Relations Team in delivering the PR strategy.

They will be a communications/PR professional who can work alongside the Council’s in-house PR team to review, deliver and evaluate the PR strategy. They will have a professional qualification in PR or journalism and experience in a relevant field, the successful candidate will need to have experience of print, broadcast and online media, good interpersonal and writing skills, be creative and able to work on their own initiative.

Hours: Part-time (18.5 hours per week)
Salary: £26,835 - £28,919 (pro-rata)
