Africa Calls for UK Schools

People And Place is an exciting web based project that links schools in our region with Children’s groups and schools in rural Nigeria.
The participants engage in keeping a diary that tells the story of their lives and the place they live largely in pictures. The project website is a multi-diary that reflects a diverse set of images and stories. It’s hoped that the project will develop transnational relationships, whilst developing digital skills in the community and encouraging collaboration.
The North East part of the project is being led by IDI Community Engagement Co-ordinator Steve Thompson who is using a range of web 2.00 applications which are appropriate to each group. A number of UK schools have already signed up to People and Place and participation in the project is quite simple. If you would like to be involved you should look at the “how to” guide on the website. If you feel you are able to do this then the project may be for you.
