Professional Filmmakers & Media Artists Wanted
ISIS Arts is offering bursaries of £1000 to filmmakers and media artists through a new Mentoring Scheme.
There are eight places up for grabs with each successful applicant working alongside an experienced Mentor to plan, deliver and evaluate a filmmaking or media project in a school. Successful applicants will be given the opportunity to develop their own project and lead workshop sessions, as well as gaining an insight into the way the sector works. The project will take place from December to March 2009 in Northumberland and Mentors will be expected to commit a minimum of ten days to the programme.
The scheme is open to individuals working with a variety of media - including video, film, animation, sound, web-based work, gaming technologies and radio. Previous experience of working in schools is not necessary, though applicants must have an established film or arts practise and an interest in working with young people in school settings. Students are not eligible.
To apply for a bursary, send examples of your recent work, a C.V. and an outline of why this is an important opportunity for you (no more than 2 sides of A4) to: ISIS Arts, 5 Charlotte Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4XF
Deadline for applications: Wednesday 26th November 2008
Interviews: Thursday 4th December 2008
